Ashlee, I agree with Labi completely.  I am so sorry that some greedy surgeon decieved you with his advertising, and conned you into mutilating your body.  The good news is that most of the pain you have been experiencing for the last seven months should lessen and disappear over the next six months or so.  I can only suggest that you visit this site regularly, and that you comment to the women who have the same concerns which drove you to get your own surgery done.  Help them.  Try to get them to see how serious that surgery is, and how they would be mutilating their bodies, not making them more beautiful.  You have my most sincere sympathy.

What irritates me more than what they're doing is how they advertise it!
They say large labia is a sign of aging and we try to make them look young.
But thousands of their customers are very young women and even underage girls! so excuse me? They're trying to make them look like what age? 4 years old?
They further strengthen the stupid myth that large labia is a sign of being a slut! You must have been fucking a lot that you got them worn out and hanging down!!!

They say those with large labia have difficulty maintaining hygiene!
Excuse me? Get a shower! Why don't guys cut off their balls so it doesn't give them trouble in the shower!
They are suggesting our labia is dirty and smelly!!!

They say it's so embarrassing to have a bulge in your swimsuit and panties!
Why men aren't embarrassed about the bulge in their underwear and everyone proudly shows off their natural curves, breasts and asses?!
Why showing off your labia should be embarrassing?  

They say they don't make women to do the surgery and it's not anyone's business what those women spend their money on.
But hey, They're driving us crazy!
I almost was going to the surgery after those docs humiliated me!  
They media has given me psychological problems!

Jessica is right, girls are getting elective plastic surgery at younger ages than ever before. some of these jackals are even doing surgery on girls who's bodies must still be developing.  

It's inhuman, irresponsible and immoral. the only thing worse to me than a "doctor" who would perform body modification on a still developing body, is a parent (Yes parent, we're talking about minors after all.) who would consent to such a thing.

Her points may have gotten a little erratic from the perspective of a few. But her rage is justified, and the roll was righteous.

Here are a lot of women who have written about their big labia and men who appreciate them.
As for the negative comments that you hear, don't let them affect you because it's either what plastic surgeons advertise because they want money! or some kids who say stupid things because they have no idea what they're talking about.
When you're with a guy don't feel embarrassed because you irrational feelings will turn him off not your beautiful labia. Show confidence and even if he is unfamiliar with large labia educate him with confidence about different forms of female genitals and you can even recommend him this website to open his eyes.

When I read your letter (I also saw your comment on my letter of January 2009) I was saddened and angered at the same time.  Saddened at your loss & that you discovered this site too late and angered by the greedy opportunists that tricked you into amputating your labia to their monetary gain & your pain and loss of sexual pleasure.  That you have commented in this forum to warn others is a testament to your integrity, intelligence and honor.  

I say this since the average person who goes through such a loss is unable to accept the reality and ends up lying to themselves and telling others that it was worth it.  They do this since they can't accept that they were tricked into parting with such a precious gift (see the young women in letter 2817).  I hope that you have healed to the point that you no longer experience pain and can at least have some semblance of a sex life.

Please know that you have inspired me to increase my efforts at stopping the mutilation (see letters 2883 & 2893).

Ashley. Too bad you didn't come here first for some honest information. If you had, you would never have had surgery. I sincerely hope you heal and feel better soon. What you should also have worked on before surgery is accepting who you are and feeling good about your body. Then find a guy who loves you for who you are, large labia included.

I was really sad when I read this story of yours. I was considering it myself, I was feeling really abnormal no matter how much my boyfriend tells me how beautiful I am. I feel like this labiaplasty thing has put some kind paranoia in my mind that something is wrong with me. I love this site because it has made me feel normal and I will not be doing the surgery. Ever since I hit pubity when I was 9 my labia began to grow. I was freaking out, I thought something was wrong with me. Thanks to this site I feel much better. Im still very self concious of my labia though. My labia is hanging out and long and its a dark pink brown. Well now I know large labia is completely normal, but others don't. And teenage boys who look at playboy, the girls have got invisible labia so when they look at mine they would probably be like what the fuck and not say anything. :/

I wouldnt worry.. having large labia is such a turn on for soooo many guys. You cant win them all, but we are out here and we are looking.. some guys for a hookup, and will make you feel empowered by the gold you have LOL, and some guys for an LTR where u become our princess and feel that way.

Maybe 10% of the girls Ive been with had large labia, but those are definitely the ones I remember and thats the kind of girl I hope to end up with. Having different colored labia I think is a bonus on top o already having large labia..
