I have struggled with my long labia for about 15yrs. I have thick, 1.5" long labia. They have made me uncomfortable with my sex life. I'm tall, attractive and nice figure, but I have felt like a freak because of them. I have had 7 sex partners and most of them have made derogatory comments about them. There were times where I felt like I wanted to take a pair of scissors and cut them off. I am married and my husband does not have a problem with them, but I hate when he touches them. I feel like I will try to eventually have surgery when I get the courage to discuss my feelings with my doctor. I see lots of guys on the web that say they like them, but I guess I never managed to have one of those guys come across my path. I really like you site, it makes me feel more normal. Thanks.

Dear Belle,
For me, a woman's labia is similar to a flower's
petals. Are flowers ugly? No! Are flowers dirty? No! Cutting off
one's labia reminds me of what the lady did in "The Adams Family" by
cutting off the tops of roses and leaving just the thorns. For her,
the roses were ugly until she cut off the petals and left just the
thorns. It's like these ads for hair implants for men. I don't look
like I did when I played High School football. I have less hair on my
head and more fat on my belly. Am I going to get hair implants and
liposuction for my belly? No! My wife loves me and I love her. She
has long labia too. She is uncomfortable with giving me oral sex, yet
she likes me to give her oral sex. I hope you can learn to be
comfortable with the body you were born with. I hope you can look at
yourself while your husband is holding a mirror and he is telling you
how beautiful your womanhood really looks. Wouldn't it be nice if
they had a show where men and women could be given a $5,000.00 Visa
card for not only a new wardrobe, haircut, and make-up, but also a
self-esteem boost for their sexuality? It could be called, "What's
not to like?".
